National cycling safety charity the Amy Gillett Foundation (AGF) is thrilled that the Federal Government, through the 2022-23 Budget, will contribute $6m towards AGF’s programs specifically designed to improve road safety for cyclists.

AGF Chair, Lisa Jacobs, welcomes this commitment to cycling safety. “Our team have been working tirelessly to secure this investment so that AGF can continue to play a proactive role in keeping bike riders safe on our roads” said Ms Jacobs.

This investment will help the AGF design and implement programs that improve road safety for cyclists. We look forward to working with our stakeholders, partners, and the wider Australian community, 10.1m of whom rode a bike last year, as we build out these programs and seek to make a genuine and lasting impact.

AGF CEO, Dan Kneipp said: “This is a great moment for cycling advocacy in Australia, and the beginning of some crucial long-term programs to reduce road trauma and get more people riding bikes”.
