Safer Together introduced a Common In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) Specification for the Queensland Natural Gas Exploration and Production Industry in 2015.

The Specification helped simplify and standardise IVMS requirements addressing settings for speed management, seat belts, fatigue management, harsh driving events and reporting.

Four years on, with the advancements in telematics technology, new data and a new generation of drivers, it’s time to update the specification so it remains current and delivers the safety outcomes to industry.

The Land Transport Working Group has updated the Specification and will be running a series of consultation workshops early in 2020 to give members the opportunity to review the changes and provide feedback.

The workshops will be conducted in Brisbane and Chinchilla. Notification for registrations to the workshops will be issued in December 2019.
