  • The NRSPP Steering Committee met on 16 May in Perth which was kindly hosted by Commonwealth Bank to coincide with the launch of National Road Safety Week. Attending the meeting was Adrian Warner, Commissioner for Road Safety in Western Australia. Key outcomes from the meeting include:
    • Paul Harrison from New Zealand Transport Association presented on the $23 million to develop a local version of NRSPP under which several aligned deliverables like a local CLOCS-NZ will be established. 
    • A new working group will be established to explore the development of the programs content such as Toolbox Talks into an online LMS system. 
    • The NRSPP Program Partner process will be updated to reflect one or two key measures that align with findings from MUARC’s Baseline Workplace Road Safety Culture project when completed in 2024. 
    • Dr Sarah Jones provided an update on the NRSPP/MUARC funded project exploring “implications and learnings of Covid-19 on Australia’s supply chains.”
    • The Truck Ride Along program development was supported. 
  • NRSPP released two organisational campaigns:
  • The NRSPP Utilities Forum met on the 22 May ahead of the AfMA Conference | with the following key outcomes:
    • Partners workshop development of a formal benchmarking framework for the sector
    • A partner shared issue relating to EWP heavy vehicle rollovers and invited sharing from industry peers on their approaches. 
    • ANCAP presented on how the program is evolving. 
    • Partners continued to workshop a fit-for-purpose safer vehicle purchasing guide and supporting research facilitated by Queensland University of Technology. 
  • NRSPP Program Director presented/facilitated at:
  • Program Chair, Jude Charlton presented at a WA forum on NRSPP as part of National Road Safety Week. 
  • Our June Heavy Vehicle Toolbox Talks (HVTBT) release features Habits & Familiarity with drivers from Bingo and Holcim.
  • NRSPP Team went to Toll Group Grocery in Laverton at 4.30am and interviewed five more professional drivers as part of the final batch of Heavy Vehicle Toolbox Talks.
