NRSPP Manager, Jerome Carslake, chats to Keith Hoskins about his case study on safety culture in a health and safety strategy and the framework APA has applied to further enhance safety culture.
For those who do not know APA, they manage 15,000 kilometres of natural gas pipelines across mainland Australia. They also maintain natural gas networks connecting 1.4 million Australian homes and businesses and a growing electrical portfolio. Additionally, the fleet and workers on the road servicing these assets travel more than 5 million kilometres per annum and often in remote conditions.
A strong safety culture is the key to protecting APA’s workers in these diverse conditions which is the central focus for Keith and the webinar.
Keith is currently the Head of HSE at APA and has been in this role since 2015. Prior to his current position, Keith gained extensive experience working in some of Australia’s top ASX companies holding senior HSE positions in Wesfarmers, Mirvac, Telstra and BHP.
Keith holds formal qualifications in marine engineering, occupational hazard and environmental management and business management. Some of Keith’s achievements include leading high performing teams and developing effective risk based HSE Strategic Plans.
