Road Trauma Support Services Victoria (RTSSV) proudly announced the launch of its new name and brand – Amber Community, a dedicated road incident support and education service in mid-2022. With more than 28 years of compassionate service to the community, Amber Community is poised to make an even greater impact on those affected by road trauma.

Founded in 1994 as a small support network, RTSSV has been a source of solace, hope, and strength for individuals and families grappling with the aftermath of road incidents. Empowered by the stories and experiences of the people they help, volunteers, partners, and leaders of other road safety organisations, the team behind Amber Community embarked on a thorough and thoughtful journey to move forward with a new look and feel that better reflects who they are today.

Through relentless dedication and commitment, Amber Community has grown to offer support services to Victorians and provide essential education programs. With the intention to expand its reach and bolster its support initiatives, the organisation decided to revamp its look and feel, symbolising its evolution while staying true to its core values.

“While our appearance may have changed, our mission remains unwavering,” stated Bernadette Nugent, CEO. “We are the same team, driven by the common goal of reducing the incidence and impact of road trauma in our community.”

Amber Community’s commitment to providing strong support and educational programs remains resolute, but they acknowledge that none of this can be achieved without the support of the community they serve. By collaborating with individuals, businesses, and institutions, they aim to raise awareness about road safety and drive efforts to prevent road trauma and its far-reaching consequences.

Amber Community’s transformation marks an exciting chapter in the organisation’s legacy, and they are eager to continue their vital work.
