How time flies since the launch of the program as part of the 2nd UN Decade of Action on Road Safety. Reflecting over the past three years, collaboration between industry, researchers and government has delivered so much.

The NRSPP works through collaboration with partners, whom are members of the industry. Over the past three years the NRSPP has developed formerly developed partnership with 78 organisations, and this number is ever rising. The program has many organisations who are actively engaged and yet to become partners formerly.

The NRSPP continues to gain it’s cut-through to the growing partnership base via the use of the website, which has over 2103 partners.

Over the past 3 years the NRSPP has developed a wealth of knowledge which can be found within the knowledge Centre on the Website. The NRSPP has specifically developed:

  • 5 Research Reports

The webinars have grown in traction and demonstrate the diversity of workplace road safety ranging from:

  • Heavy vehicle – Toll
  • Cycling
  • Worksites
  • Understanding low Speed
  • ANCAP

Many of these knowledge documents that are generated, are generated through a working group within the NRSPP. The NRSPP has 6 established working groups, three of which are now in maintenance as thy have been completed. These include: Grey Fleet, Utilities Forum, Safe Use of Mobiles in Vehicles, Driver Headspace and B2B Safer Vehicles are better.

Additionally the NRSPP have also developed 3 tools which can be used to assist organisations with the management of the fleet and overall road safety practices. These include: the Total Road Incident Cost Calculator, Guide to Developing an Effective Mobile Phone Policy and Benchmarking framework.

The NRSPP has developed a large network across all of Australia using not only the website but also social media platforms, including: 250 followers on LinkedIn, 53 Likes on Facebook, and 329 Followers on Twitter. The NRSPP’s network continues through attendance of road safety conference and forums, the NRSPP has presented at 27 different conferences/forums over the past 3 years.

The National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) is a government-supported, industry-led collaborative network which aims to support Australian businesses and organisations to develop a positive road safety culture and help protect their workers and the public, not only during work hours, but also when staff are ‘off-duty’.
