Achievements:

  • The NRSPP Grey Fleet Focus Partners have now moved to the final stage of establishing their baseline through a worker survey and manager focus group. Following these the partners will work with NRSPP and MUARC to co-design their grey fleet management action plan based around the Grey Fleet Safety Management Model which will be implemented over the next 12 months.
  • The Light Vehicle Toolbox Talk Working Group met and approved: the release of October’s Fatigue Toolbox Talk.
  • The NRSPP was part of the judging panel for the Gordon Tafe (Geelong) Re:act program where the final presentations took place on the 16th September.
  • The NRSPP attended the Australasian Road Safety Conference 2024 in Hobart which took place 1-3 October. The NRSPP involvement included:
    • Dr Jasmine Proud and Adam Gibson presenting “An iterative approach for the
      use of administrative crash datasets”
      which explores the NTARC2.0 journey and benefits.
    • Jerome Carslake facilitated the Vehicle Safety Panel Thursday which included Carla Hoorweg of ANCAP scene setting with “the role of Safe Vehicles in meeting Vision Zero” and joined by, Professor Stuart Newstead of MUARC and the Used Car Safety Ratings; Melissa Cashman of the Commonwealth Vehicle Safety Policy and Partnerships Branch; and Nick Stowe of Hydro Tasmania.
    • NRSPP sponsored the Best Paper with Implications for Workplace Road Safety which was won by “Future safeguards for enforcement and emergency workers on the roads” by Peter McKenzie
  • NRSPP held a workshop explore the Program Partner self-reporting measures which will be introduced in 2025.
