The hydraulic trailer legs on a workover rig mud tank were extended to lift the tank into the correct position for transport off the well site. The tank had been positioned over a backfilled trench that did not support the weight of the equipment. One of the trailer legs sunk approximately 750mm into the ground. The trench contained energized high voltage electrical cables buried at 1500mm supplying power to the surface equipment.
