58 – Heavy Vehicle Toolbox Talks: Safe Following Distances
Ensure to maintain a safe following distance between you and the vehicle in front.
Due to their mass and size, heavy vehicles require greater stopping distances, making the distance between them and the vehicle in front critical for the safety of all road users. According to the NTARC 2024 report, 9.1% of truck-related incidents resulting in more than $50,000 in damages in 2023 were attributed to inadequate following distance.
