What does road safety mean to Transgrid?

Our safety vision is to achieve a safety culture of ‘mateship’ by enabling our workforce to Think Safe and

Work Safe to go Home Safe. Driving is one of our critical risks that we recognise our workforce participate in everyday. Our goal is to provide the best leadership, processes and fleet/tools to make sure our people get home safe.

On average we drive approximately 13 million Km per year due to our geographical spread. Driving is an additional task to the core work everyday.

What are Transgrid’s NRSPP road safety commitments?

1. Internal campaign on Driving for 6 months in 2023 – Distraction, Fatigue, Stowage (other topics to be identified)

2. Implementation of new IVMS

3. Actively participate in working groups and provide data to NRSPP knowledge centre over next 2 years.

We are willing to consider participation in case studies, Q & As, Thought Leadership sessions and NRSPP research projects.
