Tasmanian Department of State Growth
The Tasmanian Government, through the Department of State Growth and the Road Safety Advisory Council, are committed to working closely with key stakeholders to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries caused by road trauma in Tasmania.
The Road Safety Advisory Council, administered by the State Growth, advises the Minister for Infrastructure, who is responsible for road safety. The Council’s membership is heads of key road safety organisations. The Council’s road safety strategy targets:
- By 2015: a 20% reduction in serious injuries and fatalities from 2010
- By 2020: a 20% reduction in serious injuries and fatalities from 2015
