Asia Pacific Cycling Conference (APCC) 2024
Welcome to the Asia Pacific Cycling Conference. Our aim is to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the cycling and micro-mobility community. Hosted within the Brisbane Cycling festival, join us in this celebration of Cycling at the Sofitel Brisbane Central.
Focused on three core themes including Economic Benefits, Health and Safety & New Opportunities and Markets the following content will be explored:
- City design and behavioural change, towards fostering sustainable cities.
- Global insights and innovation, and integration of active transport.
- Issues and opportunities around micro-mobility.
- Growing participation in cycling and active transport.
- Taking advantage of the growing bike tourism space.
The impressive line-up of speakers, just to name a few includes:
- Hon Bart Melish – Minister for Transport & Main Roads and Minister for Digital Services
- Brent Toderian – Internationally respected practitioner and thought-leader on cities and city-building
- John MacArthur – Sustainable Transportation Program Manager at TREC at Portland State University
- Vida Christeller – Manager for City Design at Wellington City Council in New Zealand
- Sam Johnson – Sustainable Transport Specialist, and co-lead – Active Mobility Knowledge Group at World Bank
- Richard Bunning – UQ Academic, researching active travel focused on tourism outcomes
- Alexander Paz – Ph.D, RPEQ, FIEAust, CPEng, NER, P.E, Professor and Transport and Main Roads Chair, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty of Engineering at QUT
