One of the most common requests the AFIA office gets is for information on hay transport, in particular how to safely secure loads of hay. While this information is available in the RIRDC report “Assessment of vehicles for the transport of hay and straw” released in 2008 we identified a need for a more concise and easy to read document. Based on this we have produced a 4 page summary document that covers the key aspects for safely securing hay and straw for transport. AFIA recommend keeping a copy in the truck, and if your transporter hasn’t heard of it they can download a copy.
