WA – Insurance Commission of Western Australia

The Insurnace Commission of Western Australia provides the following services:
1. Insurance and risk management, this includes:
– Providing owners and drivers of Western Australian registered motor vehicles with unlimited protection in the event that their negligent driving causes injury to other persons (subject to complying with Policy Warranties & Conditions).
– Managing and settling the personal and fatal injury claims of those injured or fatally injured by a motorist third party driving a Western Australian registered vehicle.
– The management and administration of the the insurance and risk management arrangements of Western Australian State Government public authorities who are members of the RiskCover Fund.
– Management and administration the insurance and risk management arrangements of eligible Western Australian based community organisations.
– Providing workers’ compensation insurance to the mining industry in Western Australia for the industrial diseases of pneumoconiosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.
– Managing the claims of those who contract the industrial diseases of pneumoconiosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.
2. Advice to government: provide advice to the State Government on matters relating to insurance and risk management.
3. Community education and research: provide funding for road safety initiatives endorsed by the Western Australian Road Safety Council and funding for research into mesothelioma.
4. Investments: invest and manage monies and property under our control.
