SafeWork SA

SafeWork SA is South Australia’s occupational health, safety and welfare (OHS) agency. Our primary role is to promote and encourage safe, fair and productive working lives in South Australia by working with employers, employees, unions and industry representatives.
SafeWork SA is responsible for administering industrial relations (IR) legislation* and managing all OHS functions in our state.
A State Government agency, SafeWork SA delivers improved OHS and IR outcomes through:
– Communication – raise awareness of the identified, relevant and targeted group
– Engagement – gain commitment from everyone
– Education – develop knowledge, understanding and skills, and foster quality education and training
– Intervention – ensure compliance and assist industry
– Evaluation – monitor and assess for ongoing improvement
