For the futures sake

Fourteen young workers died in work-related incidents in 2016. Young workers have an increased risk of workplace injury due to their lack of experience, maturity and awareness of work health and safety (WHS) responsibilities.

This year’s World Day for Safety and Health at work and Worker’s Memorial Day (World Day) theme is Generation Safe and Healthy, urging us all to focus on workplace health and safety for young workers and future generations.

Young workers have an increased risk of workplace injury due to their lack of experience, maturity and awareness of WHS responsibilities.

The workplace can be a much safer place for young workers with the right WHS tools and training, and by ensuring they feel empowered to speak up about safety and health.
