Transport Innovation Study Tours are one of the most effective ways of building individual and organisation capacity to improve the sustainability of the transport system. This event provides a free, informal introduction to what our study tours to the Netherlands involve, how it enhances professional practice and creates life-changing, immersive experiences to inspire your work.

Speakers

Meredith Glaser is a Dutch transport study tour specialist and the Institute for Sensible Transport has brought her to Melbourne to discuss the benefits of participating in a study tour.

Richard Smithers is Team Leader, Transport Strategy at the City of Melbourne and an Alumni of the 2018 Dutch Study Tour organised by the Institute for Sensible Transport. Richard will talk about how the study tour has assisted him in working to improve mobility outcomes in central Melbourne.

Dr Robbie Napper is Deputy Director, Mobility Design Lab at Monash University and an Alumni of the 2018 Dutch Study Tour. Robbie found the study tour life-changing and will discuss how he benefitted by seeing Dutch transport innovation up close and how it has impacted his work.

Dr Elliot Fishman is the Director of Transport Innovation at the Institute for Sensible Transport and will provide an overview of the week-long study tour, key objectives and topics. This includes electric vehicle policy, Sustainable Safety, Vision Zero, public transport, cycle planning, land use and new developments, plus many more.

Speakers will be on hand to answer questions.
