Here’s some numbers to consider. The number of import containers is expected to double by the end of the decade. Heavy Vehicles complete more than 80% of the container trips to or from Australia’s ports. And container-laden heavy vehicles are 36% more likely to rollover in a crash.

Consider also that load shift in the container frequently causes the truck to become unstable and roll while navigating bends or turns. And that Australian consigners have been held legally responsible for fatal outcomes of such crashes, even though the container was packed overseas.

NRSPP is presenting the ‘Ignorance is no excuse: The legal and rollover risks of import containers’ webinar in June with load restraint specialist Daniel Brain.
