This webinar will explore Sutherland Shire Council (SSC)’s journey and learnings in their shift towards a proactive safety state of its heavy fleet operations. They achieved this through changes to areas of strategic buy-in, fleet asset management and technologies, maintenance and operations (community education. training and competence validation) that ensures safe vehicles/plant, safe maintenance, safe operation and safe community.

Mark Mills commenced his career as a mechanic and then progressed into a Fleet Management role with Wollongong City Council in 1996 before moving to Sutherland Council in 2012 to take on new challenges, leading significant innovative reforms in areas of Fleet Asset Strategy Management, Operations & Maintenance Management, Governance & Safety. Mark has a keen interest in fleet industry innovation, people safety and information sharing and is a serving member on the IPWEA National Fleet Council.
